The program consists of four courses:
1. Medical History, Introduction 1: Classic and Early Modern
This course offers a thematic-chronological survey of the development medicine has undergone up till 1850.
2. Medical History, Introduction 2: Contemporary
This course offers a thematic-chronological survey of the development of medicine after 1850.
3. Medical History Research Seminar 1: Doing Research
The search for firmly based knowledge is a basis characteristic of any science. In this research seminar the focus is on how this in the course of time has been tried in the medical domain.
4. Medical History Research Seminar 2: Medicine in Society.
In this course this dynamic relation between society and medicine and the effects it has on medical-historical research will be analysed and discussed in more detail.
Courses 1 and 2 are offered in February and March. Together they form the Basic Program.
Courses 3 and 4 are offered in April and May. Together they form the Research Training Program.
